This paper introduces the state of the art in mobile broadcasting and the research advances as for the convergence with the mobile telecommunication systems. Moreover the paper presents an overview of a new flexible converged broadcast (DVB-H) and telecommunications (2.5G/3G) platform, product of an initial architecture defined among authors for a private collaboration research project called BROTHER. The main topics covered in this paper include an innovative service discovery and composition model, an advanced AAA model and finally the technological support for three reference deployment scenarios (broadcast, microcell and roaming).

Abstract
This paper introduces the state of the art in mobile broadcasting and the research advances as for the convergence with the mobile telecommunication systems. Moreover the paper presents an overview of a new flexible converged broadcast (DVB-H) and telecommunications (2.5G/3G) platform, product of an initial architecture defined among authors for a private collaboration research project called BROTHER. The main topics covered in this paper include an innovative service discovery and composition model, an advanced AAA model and finally the technological support for three reference deployment scenarios (broadcast, microcell and roaming).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
