The recent COVID-19 pandemic has imposed the application of social distancing measures aimed at containing contagion, highlighting the need to identify alternative forms of work organization to the traditional ones. To guarantee distancing and allow a partial continuation of work activity, a massive use was made of Smart Working, a practice that makes work more flexible, allowing you to operate without time and place constraints. This work, after having carried out a critical analysis of the academic-scientific literature to identify the consolidated theoretical constructs, and verify their consistency with reference to the population object of the empirical investigation, aims to examine Smart Working experiences lived by workers of the six Italian universities that took part in the study. The objective of the research is to quantify and describe how Smart Working was perceived by the population to whom the self-assessment questionnaire was submitted, in terms of improving work-life balance, reducing the gender gap, and environmental sustainability of work. The answers provided allow us to argue that the majority of the sample has experienced a complete and mature form of Smart Working, highlighting how this contributes to improving work-life balance and bridging, at least partially, the gender gap in workplace.

Abstract
The answers provided allow us to argue that the majority of the sample has experienced a complete and mature form of Smart Working, highlighting how this contributes to improving work-life balance and bridging, at least partially, the gender gap in workplace.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
