This essay offers a comparative analysis of the concepts of harmony in three different cultural traditions: Greek Homónoia, Roman Concordia and Vedic Sāmmanasya. Through philosophical, literary and religious sources, the authors show how the idea of social and political harmony has been conceptualised and sacralised in different contexts, taking the form of divinities, civic virtues or ritual principles.
