This paper aims at clarifying two neglected aspects of anaphoric encapsulation: the alleged existence of pronominal anaphoric encapsulators and non-anaphoric encapsulators. We will assume a reference-based definition of the phe-nomenon under consideration, grounded on the notion of hypostasis, as the starting point of our reasoning. The first research question will be answered through the analysis of general nouns with encapsulating function as opposed to pronouns, whereas the second research question will lead us to the examination of copular clauses with an anaphoric neuter pronoun as subject and of grammaticalized appositions.

Abstract
This paper aims at clarifying two neglected aspects of anaphoric encapsulation: the alleged existence of pronominal anaphoric encapsulators and non-anaphoric encapsulators. We will assume a reference-based definition of the phe-nomenon under consideration, grounded on the notion of hypostasis, as the starting point of our reasoning. The first research question will be answered through the analysis of general nouns with encapsulating function as opposed to pronouns, whereas the second research question will lead us to the examination of copular clauses with an anaphoric neuter pronoun as subject and of grammaticalized appositions.File in questo prodotto:
