L’edizione Bembina della Commedia

The essay analyses manuscripts of Dante’s Comedy surrounding Vat. Lat. 3196, the well-known codex edited by Pietro Bembo. The purpose of this study is to identify other potential models, apart from Vat. Lat. 3196 and the Landino edition, for Bembo’s (and, eventually, Aldo Manuzio’s) editio; as well as to note any descripti more or less indirectly derived from Vat. Lat. 3196. In addition to a review in percentage terms of the sure sources’ contributions, the results offer a number of late manuscripts which definitely descend from Vat. Lat. 3196: Barb. 4113, Can. 110, Laur. 40.15”, Manch. 48, Parm. 1473, and Vat. 11448; and at least three codices that may be stemmatically upstream of Bembo’s edition: Est. It. 1513, Lond. Add. 19587, and Vat. 10272. Finally, this stemmatic exercise makes a useful addition towards the classification of the more than 800 manuscripts of Dante’s Comedy.

Il saggio si concentra sull’analisi dei manoscritti della Commedia di Dante che ruotano intorno al noto codice Vat. Lat. 3196, esemplato da Pietro Bembo. Scopo di questo lavoro è individuare potenziali modelli alla base dell’editio bembesca (e poi Aldina), tuttora sconosciuti, con l’esclusione di Vat e della stampa del Landino, e eventuali descripti che ne discendono più o meno indirettamente. I risultati, oltre a descrivere in termini percentuali l’apporto delle fonti certe, informano di un certo numero di mss. tardi sicuramente dipendenti da Vat. Lat. 3196: Barb. 4113, Can. 110, Laur. 40.15”, Manch. 48, Parm. 1473, Vat. 11448, ma anche di almeno tre codici che potrebbero trovarsi stemmaticamente a monte dell’edizione di Bembo: Est. It. 1513, Lond. Add. 19587 e Vat. 10272. In ultimo, questo esercizio di stemmatica costituisce un tassello utile per completare il quadro di classificazione degli oltre 800 manoscritti della Commedia di Dante.
