The article reconsiders the codex Conv. Soppr. J IX 3 of the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze, owned by Leon Battista Alberti; in the light of recently studied fourteenth- and fifteenth-century digraphic practice, it is proposed that the entire manuscript (containing Cicero’s De legibus) is in the hand of the humanist.
