: Directive 2011/99/eu of 13 December 2011 on the European protection order establishes a mechanism for the mutual recognition of protection measures in criminal matters between Member States. The Directive allows for a prolongation of national protection measures for persons in danger when they travel or move to another eu Member State. In Italy, the Directive has been implemented by legisla tive decree n. 9/15, which setting up a new instrument specifc to criminal judicial cooperation, which will strengthen the protection of victims in the European area.
