This contribution deals with the in-service training of teachers, with a particular focus on the increasing use of online/distance modes. In-service training fits into the wider framework of teaching training tout court, but presents some specificities, especially in comparison with university students preparing to teach or newly qualified teachers. Despite the wealth of studies on teacher training, the condition of teachers in middle adulthood and with a service experience of more than ten years is less explored in literature; and the online model could be most usefully applied precisely under these circumstances. This theoretical exploration, taking into account national and international empirical studies, converges in the identification of some principles of method.

Abstract
This contribution deals with the in-service training of teachers, with a particular focus on the increasing use of online/distance modes. In-service training fits into the wider framework of teaching training tout court, but presents some specificities, especially in comparison with university students preparing to teach or newly qualified teachers. Despite the wealth of studies on teacher training, the condition of teachers in middle adulthood and with a service experience of more than ten years is less explored in literature; and the online model could be most usefully applied precisely under these circumstances. This theoretical exploration, taking into account national and international empirical studies, converges in the identification of some principles of method.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
