From a pedagogical perspective, it may be of interest, given the current climate concerning the ecological transition, to understand new sensitivities and educational needs in younger generations. Their desire for change plays a decisive role in articulating relationships and integrated perspectives of knowledge and innovation towards possible futures, under the overarching theme of equity. More specifically, young people’s growing interest towards the field of sustainability suggests new educational opportunities in the multiple contexts of learning and in different stages of life. The main goals of such an effort shall be that of promoting sustainability competences to allow people to know how to practice their values relating to sustainable development, maintain a holistic vision, to take actions that restore and maintain ecosystem health, justice, equity and finally to imagine and build, together, alternative sustainable futures.
In prospettiva pedagogica può essere interessante, nell’attuale congiuntura di transizione ecologica, comprendere nuove sensibilità e bisogni formativi delle giovani generazioni la cui spinta al cambiamento si configura decisiva al fine di articolare rapportie prospettive integrate di conoscenza e innovazione verso futuri possibili, nel segno dell'equità. In modo particolare, il crescente interesse rispetto all’ambito della sostenibilità da parte dei giovani porta a delineare nuove opportunità formative nei molteplici contesti dell’imparare e nelle diverse età della vita, nella direzione di promuovere sustainability competences in grado di mettere le persone nella condizione di saper incorporare i valori dello sviluppo sostenibile, avere una visione olistica, intraprendere azioni che ripristinino e mantengano la salute dell’ecosistema, la giustizia, l’equità, immaginare e realizzare, insieme, futuri sostenibili alternativi.
