The article aims to examine the consumption of Japanese animated drawing in Italy from the end of the Seventies and the early Eighties. The viewing of Japanese animation is a direct and clear consequence of the particular social, cultural, medial and technological situation of historical time period on which our analysis is focused. To be precise, this analysis tries to piece together, although in broad terms, the history of consumption of the Japanese animated drawing in Italy underlining that the phenomenon is mainly about the young persons (as the researchers often maintain) but also a larger audience, whose collective imagination is influenced in depth.
