The report reconstructs the study day ‘The Latin Religious Vocabulary’, held at the University of Zielona Góra (PL) as part of the international project ‘The Priests of Jupiter’. The meeting was attended by scholars from various countries and was dedicated to the analysis of Latin religious vocabulary, with particular attention to the terminology of prayer, sacrifice and ritual practices. The contributions addressed topics such as the use of verbs in devotional formulas, exauguratio and evocatio, the concept of placatio, sacratio capitis, the value of auspicium, the Feriae Latinae and sacrificial language. The initiative highlighted the importance of philological, historical and historical-religious reflection for a deeper understanding of the technical lexicon of Roman religion.
La cronaca ricostruisce la giornata di studi «The Latin Religious Vocabulary», svoltasi presso l’Università di Zielona Góra (PL) nell’ambito del progetto internazionale «The Priests of Jupiter». L’incontro ha visto la partecipazione di studiosi provenienti da diversi Paesi ed è stato dedicato all’analisi del lessico religioso latino, con attenzione particolare alla terminologia della preghiera, dei sacrifici e delle pratiche rituali. I contributi hanno affrontato temi quali l’uso dei verbi nelle formule devozionali, l’exauguratio e l’evocatio, il concetto di placatio, la sacratio capitis, il valore dell’auspicium, le Feriae Latinae e il linguaggio sacrificale. L’iniziativa ha sottolineato l’importanza della riflessione filologica, storica e storico-religiosa per una più profonda comprensione del lessico tecnico della religione romana.
