This essay explores the symbolic and religious value of the lotus flower in Egyptian, Indian and Buddhist traditions. Starting from personal experiences and botanical observations, the analysis focuses on the role of the lotus as an image of purity, detachment and a platform for existence. Through Vedic sources, Buddhist texts and intercultural comparisons, the lotus appears as a symbol of creation, spiritual transformation and the heart, the inner place where the divine manifests itself. The contribution thus highlights the continuity and plurality of meanings that have made the lotus one of the central figures in the history of religions.

Il saggio esplora il valore simbolico e religioso del fiore di loto nelle tradizioni egizia, indiana e buddhista. A partire da esperienze personali e osservazioni botaniche, l’analisi si sofferma sul ruolo del loto come immagine di purezza, distacco e piattaforma dell’esistenza. Attraverso fonti vediche, testi buddhisti e confronti interculturali, il loto appare come simbolo della creazione, della trasformazione spirituale e del cuore, luogo interiore in cui si manifesta il divino.
