Le privatizzazioni nel contesto italiano e internazionale: profili teorici, ricerca dell’efficienza e aspetti comparativi

Privatizations are complex and multifaceted processes that began in the 1980s to address critical periods and repay public debt. This paper therefore aims to analyze the theoretical framework of privatization in Italy, reviewing some of the literature, and certain historical aspects of privatization. The essay also focuses on comparisons of the context Italian context with some foreign states also thanks to the integration of sources and on the process’s direction toward greater efficiency. This is done with an awareness of the benefits that could be generated, but also of the failure to achieve several initially hypothesized advantages, particularly those related to citizens’ well-being.
